How wealth tax works in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan has no recurring net wealth tax. Bank balances, listed securities, private company shares, jewellery, crypto assets and foreign assets are not taxed each year simply because an individual owns them.
The practical asset taxes are narrower. Real estate and land can be subject to property or land taxes, companies pay property tax on qualifying assets, and transactions or imports may trigger VAT, customs duty, excise tax or registration costs.

Watch out for
- No wealth tax does not mean real estate is tax-free. Property tax and land tax may apply depending on the asset, owner and location.
- Legal entities generally face 1.5% property tax on taxable immovable property, with minimum tax bases by location and market-value changes from 2026.
- Foreign tax residence can still expose an individual to foreign wealth, reporting or investment-income rules.
